The monogram on the back (BEG) and the tree show the different graphic approach of Beatrix Whistler. There is a tree drawn with a similar line in the Hunterian collection, GLAHA 46486. This drawing came into the Hunterian collection as part of the Whistler Estate, together with graphic work by Beatrix Whistler, who was married to Godwin 1875-1886.
