Description: | 108.5 x 153.6 x 9 s. b. l. "W. McTaggart / 77" CRE McTAGGART, William; (Scottish; 1835-1910) LABEL: This golden, light-filled canvas celebrates a successful expedition by the fishing fleet. McTaggart developed his own-the-spot studies in the studio, working on this picture over a two-year period. It was begun at Carnoustie on the Angus coast. This protracted development is denied by the bold, rhythmic brushwork which effectively interprets the shimmer of light and unifies the surface of the picture. | License: | http://www.hmag.gla.ac.uk/spirit/rights/ | Publisher: | Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow | Rights holder: | Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow | Subjects: | LANDSCAPE : SCOTLAND : SEASCAPE : FIGURE : BOAT : MALE : FEMALE : CHILD : SCOTTISH 19TH CENTURY : 2004 : | Source: | Hunterian Museum | Creator: | Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow | Identifier: | http://www.huntsearch.gla.ac.uk/cgi-bin/... | Language: | en-GB | Go to resource |
