Using both etching and engraving, he soon mastered this art, and his portraits, inspired by Van Dyck 's style, are remarquable. Joseph Citermans, or Susterman, was a Flemmish portraitist, who, like his famous fellow countryman, Van Dyck, settled abroad. He studied for a while in Paris, and then moved to Italy, where he stayed until his death. | License: | http://www.hmag.gla.ac.uk/spirit/rights/ | Publisher: | Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow | Rights holder: | Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow | Subjects: | PORTRAIT : HENRI DE LORRAINE : XIITH CENTURY : MAN : DUC DE GUISE : ARMOUR : | Source: | Hunterian Museum | Creator: | Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow | Identifier: | http://www.huntsearch.gla.ac.uk/cgi-bin/... | Language: | en-GB | Go to resource |
