Description: | RU s. and inscr. in pencil b.r. "Chas R Mackintosh / 140 Bath Street"; inscr. in pencil t.l. "For Miss Cranstons / Argyle Street. / Smoking Room - center [sic] lamps" DES MACKINTOSH, Charles Rennie; (Scottish; 1868-1928) Mackintosh's notes indicate that the drops of purple glass represented the fruit of the olive tree - "the flower of peace".
The drawing clearly indicates that Mackintosh planned to implement a number of light fittings, however if any of the fittings were made, none have survived.
