Description: | The Anatomy Museum contains a collection of optical instruments, mainly comprised microscopes and microtomes. These pieces of equipment were used in the preparation and analysis of anatomical and pathological specimens. These items provide a record for the history of scientific instruments and medical teaching at Aberdeen University. This collection compliments the Natural Philosophy's collection of optic instruments. Access to, and display of, parts of the collection is restricted by the Anatomy Act (1984) as amended by the Human Tissue (Scotland) Act 2006.
