Description: | The Anatomy Museum has a particular strength in works on paper. The collection of illustrations and drawing are part of the core collection used in medical and health teaching. The anatomical drawing produced for Professor Robert Lockhart's 1959 textbook 'Anatomy of the Human Body' produced a large body of work that has remained in the collection. The textbook contains the illustrations and drawings from six artists including Alberto Morrocco. Morrocco's works are thought to be the only anatomical drawings he produced in his career. The other artists to take part in the publication were: William Cruickshank, Gordon S Cameron, R.W. Matthews, Donald J Stephen and William Fyfe Forest. The work of these artists is complimented by the works of a photographers Eric Naylor and Alexander Cain. Access to, and display of, parts of the collection is restricted by the Anatomy Act (1984) as amended by the Human Tissue (Scotland) Act 2006.
