The back of the blade is ornamented with floral gold inlay and a small inscription. A long groove in the centre of the blade and three small ones at the end, the area between the centre groove and the small grooves is slightly concave. The back of the blade at the point is slightly sharpened unlike the rest of the back. The blade is elegantly shaped, wide near the hilt and narrow in the centre and wide again and thin at the end of the blade. Hilt of horn. Release stud covered with a brass eye. Cross guard ornamented with geometrical and floral designs, has strawberry shaped finials. Sword knot of black string with a tassel of worn gold thread. Inscriptions: three on the blade in gold inlay, written in Arabic language with the maker's name and date of manufacture. One side has an inscription taken from the sayings of the prophet Mohammed: "There is no young man but Ali and there is no sword but Thul-fakar." Ali is the young cousin of the prophet while Thul-fakhar is the name of the sword that the prophet used. On the same side underneath the end of the cross guard is the stamp of the maker: "made by Musa Garmy". The other side of the blade has an inscription which is extracted from the Holy Quran: "victory from God and a forthcoming conquest." Beneath that is the year the sword made which is 1171H., equivalent to 1751 A.D. At the end of the T section back of the blade is a small inscription saying "[with the wish of God]"
