Description: | Dagger with curved watered steel blade, having a wide back in line with the pistol-grip shaped hilt. Decorated with floral designs in gold overlaid on the upper part of the blade, the back and the hilt. Central fuller. Grip of ivory, undecorated; the steel edge damascened with floral designs. At the pommel is a pear- shaped steel swivel on a flower design. The sheath is covered with green velvet and has a silvered copper locket and chape. Locket of leaf shape engraved with the name of the workshop (WORKSHOP PUTTIALLA). The velvet seam is covered by a strip of gold braid from locket to chape. Small ring with a holder attached to the back of the locket. Traces of gold damascening on the sheath fittings.
