Postcard view of Kirkgate showing Leeds Parish Church, St. Peter's, in the centre. Designed by Robert Chantrell, this church was built in 1838-41 but it is believed that there has been a church on the site since around the 8th century. Shops on the right are Mrs. Frances Wright, confectioner, and Stimpson Brothers hairdressers. The buildings on the left were soon to be demolished. Taken around the early 20th century. | License: | http://www.leodis.net/article.aspx?id=12 | Rights holder: | Leeds Central Library | Subjects: | Leeds Parish Church St. Peter's Church Kirkgate | Source: | Leodis - A photographic archive of Leeds | Identifier: | http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?id=20... | Go to resource |
