Postcard view of Leeds Parish Church on Kirkgate, seen from the east. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, was designed by Robert Chantrell and consecrated in 1841. The vicar at the time, who was instrumental in the rebuilding of the church, was Dr. Walter Farquhar Hook; his statue can be seen in City Square, as well as a memorial to him inside the church itself. The road here is cobbled with tramlines running down the middle. | License: | http://www.leodis.net/article.aspx?id=12 | Rights holder: | Leeds Central Library | Subjects: | Leeds Parish Church St. Peter's Church Kirkgate | Source: | Leodis - A photographic archive of Leeds | Identifier: | http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?id=20... | Go to resource |
