Description: | PRN 13556
During a watching brief, an undated linear feature, aligned north-west/south-east, was recorded. This feature was interpreted as a ditch or channel, possibly related to the palaeochannels recorded in the previous evaluation on this site (PRN 13554). Evidence from the evaluation suggests that this channel was probably defunct by the late medieval period, so its period of use is likely to be medieval or earlier. The channel is thought to have functioned as a drain.{1}{2}
During a watching brief, two pits pre-dating the 19th century workhouse were recorded.TF 3325 4335.(3}{4} | Subjects: | General Archaeology | Source: | Lincolnshire County Council | Identifier: | http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/Re... | Go to resource |
