Description: | PRN 44512
An earthwork survey and trial trenching were carried out, centred on TF4098 8528, in 1998. Four drainage ditches were recorded, three of which were parallel and aligned north-west/south-east. The ditches were probably not all open at the same time, as different quantities of finds were recovered from each - finds indicate usage during the sixteenth to early seventeenth centuries. It is likely that the ditches were also used for domestic waste disposal. These ditches would appear to drain into features previously described as 'hollow-ways', suggesting that they were in actual fact silted-up drains - see PRN 42815.{1}{2}{3} | Subjects: | General Archaeology | Temporal: | 1470 - 1630 | Source: | Lincolnshire County Council | Identifier: | http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/Re... | Go to resource |
