Description: | PRN 22434
Small irregular ditched enclosures, droves and fields, related to roddon, surveyed March 1951 and January 1952. Concentrations, of domestic and saltern debris, and at A: TF20862276 a distinct 'red hill'. Pottery dated early C2nd-early 4th except some six sherds which, if RB were C1st-early 2nd century.{1}{2}{3}{4} The indicated area is under heavy crop showing no surface evidence of occupation. The farmer recollects Mrs Hallam perambulating the plough but knows of no more recent finds here.{1} THERE IS EVIDENCE OF SETTLEMENT AND SALTWORKING ALL OVER THIS AREA. THIS SITE IS WITHIN AN AREA OF EXTENSIVE CROPMARKS. {4}{5}
