Description: | A large sub-rectangular enclosure is visible on aerial photographs to the south-east of Casthorpe House - other possible smaller enclosures attached. Seems to be respected by ridge and furrow; in the general area of the site of West Casthorpe deserted medieval village (see primary reference number 30108). {1}
The enclosure is visible on the ground. Fieldwalking finds included Stamford ware and glazed roofing tiles. The lighter patches of former building platforms were also visible as soilmarks. {2} | Temporal: | 1066 - 1539 | Source: | Lincolnshire County Council | Identifier: | http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/Re... | Go to resource |
