STOKE ROCHFORD STOKE ROCHFORD PARK SK 92 NW 6/166 Gate, screen wall and balustrade to west of Stoke Roch- ford Hall G.V. II* Gates, screen wall and balustrade. 1841-5. By William Burn for Sir Christopher Turnor. Ashlar, wrought iron. Central double gates flanked by low stone walls bearing 4 panels of pierced railings, terminating in square panelled piers with moulded cornices and urns. The gates have pierced and scrolled rails with openwork paterae and twisted finials at top and bottom of railings and the lower parts of the gates are rectangular openwork panels. The square gate piers are pierced with paterae and ogee finials. The gate overthrow is elaborate with foliage, pinnacles and at the centre the initial "CT" for Christopher Turnor. The low stone balustrade with turned shafts links the right hand end of the gate screen with the main house.
