Description: | PRN 43172
This cropmark has been interpreted as probably a neolithic long barrow. {1}
The long barrow is situated on an upper valley slope, overlooking Calceby Beck to the west, at 60m above sea level, with the long axis traversing the contours, and aligned east-south-east to west-north-west. It is an oval enclosure, its side ditches showing as a wider mark; recorded as cropmarks. Fieldwalking in 1989 revealed no surface traces or finds. {2} | Subjects: | General Archaeology | Temporal: | 4000BC - 2351BC | Source: | Lincolnshire County Council | Identifier: | http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/Re... | Go to resource |
