Description: | 1. William Thorold of Little Ponton, esq,
2. Edward Compton of Girsby, esq, and Dorothy his eldest daughter,

4. Richard Compton, doctor in physic, brother of Edward, Dymoke Walpole of Louth, gent, and John Walpole of Gray's Inn, brother of Dymoke.
Consideration and conditions: the marriage to be solemnized between William Thorold and Dorothy Compton, the marriage portion of £1,000, to provide a jointure and bar claims for dower, to be held by the earl of Scarborough and Francis Compton as follows:
Little Ponton: to the use of William Thorold till the marriage, then to Richard Compton, Dymoke Walpole and John Walpole for 99 years if William Thorold and Dorothy Compton live so long, then to the use of William Thorold for life, then after death or forfeiture to the trustees to preserve the contingent remainders, then after the death of William Thorold;
As to the manor of Little Ponton, the advowson, together with the mansion house called the Hall with the onsett thereto belonging, with barns, buildings, stalls, outhouses, dovecote, orchards and dog yard of 20a., a close of meadow or pasture known as Orchard Lease of 40a., the colling close of 18a., a close of meadow and pasture known as the Cow Close of 20a., a close of meadow or pasture or inclosed ground known as the Walke of 200a., close of meadow or pasture called Westbecks of 90a., 2 closes of meadow pasture called Inhams, each of 8a., 2 closes of meadow and pasture called Bullock Closes of 20a., 12 horse gates or commons for 12 horses, 20 beast gates or commons for 20 beasts, and 200 sheep gates in the common pastures and fields of Little Ponton formerly in the occupation of [blank] Percyvall now of William Thorold.
Also the messuage or farm, with onsett, the close of meadow or pasture known as Mill Becks of 20a., the close of meadow or pasture known as the High Close of 8a., Cottagers Close of 8a., the Nidow Platt of 5a., Hagas Hills Close of 25a., Dovecote Close of 20a., Pinder's Close and Parkins Close of 12a., the Wood Walke and Cherritree Leaze of 160a., two closes called Inhams, each of 8a., and 12 horsegates, 20 beast gates and 200 sheep gates, all in the occupation of John Stafford.
Also Ponton wood of [blank]a., and cottages in the occupation of Thomas Guisley, [ ] Harper, widow, Robert Whitefoot, Christopher Hands, John Hewerdine, Anthony Stafford, Thomas Slater, Robert Lamb, and all beast gates, sheep gates and common belonging to each respective cottage. To the use of Dorothy Compton for life.
As to the other lands in Little Ponton not limited to Dorothy Compton after William Thorold's death, and as to the jointure lands after Dorothy Compton's death, remainders to sons of their bodies up to the 10th son and their heirs male, remainders to posthumous sons of William Thorold and Dorothy Compton, or to sons of any other wife after Dorothy's death.
Remainder to Thomas Thorold, brother of William, and all his sons similarly as with those of William Thorold, remainder to Charles Thorold, another brother, similarly, remainder to the daughters of William Thorold and the heirs of their bodies.
From the estate of the manors limited to Richard Compton, Dymoke Walpole and John Walpole for 99 years, £50 a year to be paid for pin money to Dorothy Compton.
As to the manor of Bassingham (except for the term limited to Richard Compton and the Dymokes) uses and remainders as before down to the daughters of William Thorold, then to the heirs of Dorothy Compton for ever.
As to the estates of the trustees, power to lease or mortgage parts for portions for younger children, £1,000 for one child, £2,000 to be equally divided if more than one, also if there are no sons, an only daughter to have £2,000, two or more to have £3,000 equally divided among them, maintenance at the rate of £50 for one or £40 for two to be paid if the portions are not paid.
Power to William Thorold to make leases for 7 years except of the manor house of Little Ponton.
Covenants for further assurance, and that the clear annual value of the property is £220.
