Description: | Agnes Broun (1732-1820) was born in Craigenton Farm, Kirkoswald, Ayrshire and was to become the mother of Robert Burns (1759-96) Scotland's National Poet. She married a market gardener from the north east of Scotland named William Burnes and settled in Alloway, Ayrshire to rear 7 children.
This document with others relating to the Burnes family is on display in Burns Cottage Museum, Alloway.
