Description: | William Burnes ((1721-84) was born in the north east of Scotland in Kincardineshire and trained as a gardener. He moved south obtaining work as he travelled, eventually settling in Alloway in 1757. He married a local girl named Agnes Broun and had 7 children the eldest being Robert Burns, the poet.
