Description: | This pale blue hand-painted china bowl was used make toddy and was used by Burns at his brother Gilbert's wedding to Jean Breckenridge at Mossgiel on 21 June 1791.
Robert Burns (1759-96) Scotland's National Poet was born in a small cottage in Alloway, Ayrshire the son of a marker gardener who feued 7 acres locally. In a short period the farmer poet composed a wealth of songs and poems. He died of heart disease in Dumfries aged only 37 years.
On the bottom of the bowl is a label indicating the authenticity of the relic.
