Description: | The object is the leg/foot of a cooking vessel. The leg is cast copper alloy. In plan it is an elongated trapezoidal shape, with the two long edges forming the side edge. The most narrow edge is the upper broken edge. In length the leg is 49.4mm, 40.1mm wide at the foot and 16mm thick at the thickest point at the foot. In profile the leg is slightly concave. And in section (Horizontal section) the leg is a sub-rectangular shape with a central vertical ridge on the outer concave surface. The section gradually gets wider towards the foot. The base ofthe foot is a rectangular shape in plan, with rounded edges. The upper edge is broken, but not recently. The surface of the leg is slightly pitted with corrosion, and has a black soot deposit on the outer and inner surfaces. There are traces of a green/brown patina.
