Description: | Medieval coin; struck silver cut farthing of Henry III (or possibly very early Edward I), dating to the period 1250-1279. The positioning of the visible letters on the obverse suggests that this is a coin where the obverse legend starts at the 10 o'clock position. It is therefore of class V, VI or VII. Unknown mint. The moneyer is either Ambrosi, Davi, Ion, Walteri or possibly Henri, although the last is almost always split HEN/RI so the conjunction of letters ION would be very unlikely to occur on a coin of that moneyer.Obv. Crowned bust of king facing. The two curls of hair at the right side are present, with a pellet to the right.[HENRI]CVS [REX III]Rev. Voided long cross which divides the legend. Three pellets in the remaining quadrant.[...]ION[...]Length 8.8mm, width 8.9mm, thickness 0.5mm, weight 0.32gRef: Wren 'The Voided Long-Cross Coinage 1247-1279'
