Description: | A copper-alloy seal matrix of 'chess pawn' type medieval and circa 14th century in date. It has a lozenge shaped suspension loop with a circular hole through its centre. The shaft is hexagonal in cross-section and the die circular. It measures 19.45mm in total height and the die is 18.81mm in diameter. The die has a border inscription which read; I CRAKE NOTIS, which means, 'I crack nuts.'
