Description: | Six ms letters (12pp, plus envelopes) written by Field Marshal Viscount Allenby to George W Yardley, the first (August 1917) commenting on the death of his son (June 1917) and expressing sympathy for the death of Arthur Knapp who had died two days later, "The two have crossed the border together; brave souls and stainless both", with following letters from 1921 and 1922 from Cairo, Chelsea and Ramleh.
