Description: | 16 albums compiled in the late 1960s or early 1970s covering Austria and Hungary pre and during the First World War. GSA 666 contains 64 photographs of the coronation of the Emperor Charles of Austria as King of Hungary in Budapest 1916 (possible connection to Q 63752 ?), and 36 of scenes in Austria 1912 - 1916, including Archduke Franz Ferdinand at Sarajevo in 1914 and Austria mobilising for war. GSA 667 contains 113 photographs of state visits of the Emperor Charles of Austria with his Generals and German allies, also Archdukes of the Austrian Imperial House with senior officers of the Austrian and German armies during the First World War. GSA 668 contains 133 photographs of the Austro-Hungarian Army during the First World War, including German official and probably French official photographs (also possibly including Q 51054 and 7201-13). GSA 670 - GSA 673 cover the Austro-Hungarian campaign against Italy during the First World War: GSA 670 contains photographs of locations on the Italian Front (A-Z); GSA 671 covers troops in action, guns and gunners and bridges in Italy; GSA 672 covers the Isonzo Offensive (Caporetto), the King Emperor visiting troops, captured Italian artillery, and Austro-Hungarian troops; and GSA 673 contains 38 photographs of Austrian and German aircraft shot down, also Italian aircraft crashes (possibly Italian official), and 69 photographs of Austro-Hungarian forces. GSA 674 covers the Austro-Hungarian campaign against the Serbians and Montenegrins, also miscellaneous Turkish subjects 1914 - 1918. GSA 675 covers German, Austrian, Hungarian, Serbian and Russian troops on the Eastern Front and in Serbia 1914 - 1918, and includes Montenegrin prisoners and wounded soldiers. GSA 676 covers the Austrian, Hungarian, Russian, Turkish, Montenegrin and Serbian theatres 1914 - 1918, also the armistice at Brest Litovsk (including 31 photographs labelled "Tableaux de Guerre Paris"). GSA 677 covers the Austro-Hungarian campaign against Italy and the German campaign against Roumania 1914 - 1918. GSA 678 covers German, Russian and Austro-Hungarian troops, the Eastern, Western and Italian Fronts, French and Russian prisoners in German hands; German and Bulgarian military personalities, and German naval material such as the Brandenburg seaplane and U boats. GSA 679 covers the death and funeral of Emperor Franz Joseph in 1916, including views of the Imperial Apartments in the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, the Austrian Navy mainly in Italy and Yugoslavia, Italian aircraft destroyed by Austro-Hungarian forces, scenes on the Eastern and Southern fronts for Austro-Hungarian forces, the battles along the Isonzo River, Austro-Hungarian forces on the Italian Front, German, Turkish and Bulgarian troops in Palestine; German officers in Flanders; scenes in Berlin; and a German balloon detachment on the Western Front. GSA 680 covers the Austro-Hungarian campaign against Italy, but also includes the Maria Theresa Academy at Wiener Neustadt and the German and Austro-Hungarian Royal Families in Vienna, including pre 1914 and the funeral of Franz Joseph. GSA 681 covers the Italian Front in 1917 and Austro-Hungarian prisoners on the Italian Front in 1917.
