Description: | Dodd 1917
image: A half length portrait of Haig in uniform. He is seen standing in a field, holding a pair of binoculars in his
right hand, and a cane in his left.
Dodd had a mixed response to his portraits of military leaders. While some of the sitters were pleased with the result,
Haig included, many found that the portraits made them appear arrogant, and others ridiculous. However, two special edition volumes were
issued, one for the admirals, and one for the generals, which both sold well. The portraits were also included in a very popular joint
exhibition of Bone and Dodd's work in mid-1918.
