In this early First World War medal, the artist displays his patriotism and enthusiasm for the conflict by depicting
Germany as a noble warrior, relentlessly driving his enemies before him. The allied powers, are rendered ridiculous (and ineffective) by
being depicted in the form of unflattering versions of their national animal symbols . The reverse text is translated as 'Germany over all
