First World War portrait medal by Fritz Eue, commemorating Generaloberst Remus von Woyrsch (1847-1920), one in a series
of patriotic medallic tributes to German military commanders produced by the artist during the war. Von Woyrsch was recalled from
retirement in 1914 in order to command the Silesian Landwehr on the Eastern Front. He remained in the Eastern theatre fighting the Russians
