1. Formal group photograph of a mixed band made up from seamen of various ships? companies. The men are not in bandsmen?s uniforms, suggesting this may be a flotilla glee club. Vessels represented include the ?C? [Centaur] class light cruiser HMS Centaur (1916), the V class destroyers HMS Versatile (1917) and HMS Vortigern (1917), the Shakespeare class destroyer leader HMS Wallace (1918) and the W class destroyers HMS Walker (1917) and HMS Watchman (1917). There is no evidence for a direct link to Buss, but it is possible that it can be dated to the period he served aboard HMS Wallace (1918), ie. from 15th August 1929 to 15th September 1931. All the ships represented were organised into the same formation (Destroyer Flotilla, Atlantic Fleet) between 1925 and 1931.
