Description: | A Copy of this Draught was sent in April 1758 to Portsmouth, Chatham, Woowich and Deptford for building boats in His Majesty's Yards, agreeable thereto, also another to Mr Ellexander, Burr, and Mr Winter to which all three persons where to refer. Two copies more of this draught was sent, One to Mr Winter and the other to Mr Burr 23rd Sept 1758 for building one boat each.
Scale: 1:24. Plan showing midship section, body plan, inboard profile, and deck plan for a 20-oared, 36ft flat-bottomed Boat (1758) to carry 50 soldiers and 20 seamen. These shallow-draught boats were to be used for transporting soldiers from the ships to the shore in amphibious operations. The most famous occasion in the Seven Years' War was the capture of Quebec in 1759 under Admiral Saunders and General Wolf.
