On the rail above are the arms of Amsterdam (three saltires on a pale) between dolphins. Two shields on the counter, port side the arms of Amsterdam, starboard side an unidentified arms. This is a pencil and wash drawing by the Younger, signed and dated in brown ink ?W.V.VJ 1657.? It is an offset carefully worked up with pencil and wash. The side of the ship has been drawn in isometric perspective and elongated to show the forward ports.
