Description: | This may be a portrait of the ?St Andrew?, first rate, 96 guns. She was built no later than 1670, and rebuilt as the ?Royal Anne? in 1704. She is viewed from the port beam, with square decorated ports.
This is a careful and fairly accurate drawing of the ship, probably based on an offset, though not rubbed on the back. Only in the angle of the quarter-gallery is there any fault in the drawing.
She differs somewhat from the Younger?s drawing of the ?St Andrew? viewed from the starboard quarter PAF6878.
