Description: | Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the starboard side of the third class cruiser HMS Amethyst (1903), made entirely in wood and painted pink-brown below the waterline and black above. Hull features include a ram bow; two rows of portholes; starboard hawse hole and long bilge keel; placements for five guns on the starboard main deck; and a balanced rudder. Other features and fittings include a long fore deck with a gun mounted, painted grey; stump foremast and mainmast (mainmast currently missing); and three inline funnels painted ochre, the foremost one slightly more slender than the others. A second small gun is mounted on the aft deck. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame. On plaque attached to top right-hand side of backboard ?Amethyst?.
