Beneath the oculus is a stylised bird head design. The model has four thwarts, the foremost one has a hole in the centre for a mast. The interior of the hull has been roughly finished and stained a dark brown colour. The model is equipped with a steering oar and five spear shaped paddles, all with handles. The model is displayed on a pair of turned wooden pillar supports attached to a wooden rectangular baseboard with straight bevelled sides which sit on four bun feet.
