Description: | This scene is viewed from the lee bow. Here, yachts and escorts are depicted close-hauled on the starboard tack. They pass ?s Gravenzande, the tower of which is shown in the left background and is identified by the inscription sgravesande. The yachts are starting to brail up before coming to an anchor. In the left centre foreground is the ?Mary? (de Marije) with the ?Charlotte?, identified by the inscription de siarlet, close astern. Astern of these ships are the ?Anne? (de Anne), ?Charles? (de siarles), ?Navy? (de navij) and the ?Katherine? (de katarijn). In the centre distance, the Dutch escorting flagship, the ?Liefde? (de liefde), lies on the water. On the left is the ?Greyhound? (de grahont) and the ?Portsmouth? (de portsmout).
