Description: | Scale: Unknown. A full hull model of a Chinese pole junk made entirely in wood with metal and organic material fittings and painted in realistic colours. The vessel is depicted fully rigged with a set sail on each of its three masts. The hull is high at the bow and stern with a deep keel. The hull is painted black overall with a white stripe running its entire length at the waterline, just above the rubbing strakes, occuli, a broad panel along the bulwarks in brick red, pale green and white, and panel on the stern quarters in yellow, pale green and brick red. Fittings include two small work boats, a forecastle accommodating the foremast; main deck accommodating hatches and mainmast; poop accommodating the mizzen and two small cabins attached to the vessel?s sides; four sweep ports or portholes on the port and starboard sides; and a rectangular rudder. The model is displayed on a pair of shaped wooden crutches connected by dowels. On port and starboard bows ?3519?.
