Scale: 1:48. A full hull model of HMS Dido (1836), an 18 gun corvette made of wood and metal. The lower hull is painted copper to indicate sheathing while the upperworks are finished in black. There are 18 gun ports on the upper deck, the interior of which are painted a blood red. The exterior of the hull at deck level is complete with three pairs of channels with deadeyes, chains, catheads, bumpkins, glazed quarter galleries, a rudder with fittings, and a small full length female figurehead. The deck is finished in natural varnished wood with the individual planks inked in. Fixtures and fittings include three stump masts and bowsprit painted a cream yellow, four wooden gratings, a small windlass, riding bits, the galley stove chimney, a single drumhead capstan, a companionway and skylight, and a double wheel. There are also four storage lockers, two at the bow and two at the stern. The whole model is mounted on a pair of longitudinal keel blocks secured to a stained and varnished rectangular mahogany baseboard with three bun feet (one missing).
