Description: | Scale: Unknown. A half block model of the starboard side of the ship-rigged passenger/cargo vessels Falconhurst (1883) and Imberhorne (1883), made entirely in wood, painted and polished. The hull is polished wood below the waterline and black above with a broad white stripe running the entire length of the hull onto which is painted black rectangles that resemble gunports. Hull details include a clipper bow; figurehead with decorative trail boards; anchor stowed to the starboard cathead; single strake and gunwale in polished wood; starboard quarter portholes; decoration to the stern; and rudder. Other features and fittings include foredeck; turtle-backed deck accommodating a boat stowed on chocks; a stump bowsprit, foremast, mainmast and mizzen mast; boat stowed on davits; and a poop deck accommodating deckhouse, skylight, binnacle and wheel. The model is displayed on a rectangular wooden backboard with bevelled edges, the lower half of which is stained a dark colour the upper half, mahogany, the dividing point indicating the waterline of the depicted vessel. Inscribed on the bow is ?Falconhurst' and on plaques attached to the bottom left- and right-hand sides of the backboard ?First Prize Old Medal.
