Description: | Scale: not calculated. A flat-bottomed, double-ended pontoon, in double-skinned sheet metal that can be disassembled for portability. There are rubbing sections on the bottom and ends and there are four metal rings on each side attached to the gunwales. Both date and nationality are uncertain though two similar models of metal pontoons, acquired from the same source (SLR2706 and SLR2707) are Austrian and French respectively, the latter made to a scale of 1:6.
The pontoon seems originally to have been painted dark green but was later repainted black. It no longer completely takes to pieces; the constituent parts seem to have been glued and soldered permanently together at some stage in its life.
CA: AAA.
