Description: | Scale: Unknown. A full hull and rigged model of a crooked stern Upper Yangtze sailing junk. The hull is carved from a single piece of wood with the upper works, deck and fittings either loose or glued and pinned on. It is rigged with a single sail bent onto spars. There is an H-frame structure rigged over the accommodation used for the sail and possibly steering. Other loose fittings include a large steering oar, pole with red flag and a broken spar with a hole and wooden peg through one end. It is packed in its original wooden boxed with various written and stencilled inscriptions.
