Description: | Scale: 1:24. Full hull design model of a 32ft pinnace for a first rate warship (circa 1838) made entirely in wood with metal fitting and painted and varnished in realistic finishes. The hull is of double diagonal carvel construction and varnished a golden brown finish. The top strake, top of the stem post and top section of rudder are painted black. Fittings include seven thwarts and a stern seat; provision for seven oars on each side; and a rudder and tiller. The model is mounted on a pair of ebonized turned wooden supports in the form of acorns and displayed on a rectangular wooden baseboard with stringed edges and ebonized bun feet. On baseboard ?4?. CA: AAB. Possible in Royal Naval Museum 1913 Catalogue Windsor Castle Room, No 1 Case, Nos 1-9 though the year is 1855 not 1838.Piece of the decking missing. Plaque detached from base.
