Description: | Scale: Unknown. A full hull and rigged model of a Hong Kong sampan fishing vessel. The hull is carved from a single piece of wood with the upper works, deck and fittings pinned and glued on. It is complete with a single mast with a battened sail and two spars, two hatch covers and a single rudder to which the main sheet of the sail is rigged. The curved wooden awning over the stern cockpit has been painted a creamy yellow with the rest of the hull and fittings finished in natural varnished (?) wood. It is packed in an old cardboard box with letting stamped on, perhaps indicating ex-Army breathing apparatus.
