Description: | F.Sweetings Patent Clyde Dock Rotherhithe
Scale: Unknown. A model of a midship section of a merchant vessel showing a ship's boat stowed on radial davits made in wood with metal fittings and painted in realistic colours. The deck section shows a section of the ship's hull and bulwark, painted black with a broad white band below the main deck level on which is painted four black squares. The inboard bulwark is white with a black gunwale. The section of main deck is stained dark brown and beneath it is a stylised lower deck section, painted off-white through out. The ship's boat is stowed on a pair of raised chocks, stained dark brown and rigged to a pair of metal radial davits. The hull of the boat is carved from wood, painted black and the internal fittings are cream with a dark green inboard bulwark. The boat is transom-sterned with seven thwarts and is equipped with six oars.
