Description: | Scale:Unknown. A contemporary half block model of the sailing `clipper' ship Hurricane (1853). The hull is constructed from wooden planks in bread and butter fashion and is complete with an almost vertical stem running into a horizontal keel which finishes with a fixed rudder below a rounded and angled counter stern. The figurehead, together with trailboards, were originally fitted(?) but are now missing. On the virtually flush deck are two stump masts(foremast missing), whilst below the bulwarks are the upper and lower mouldings running from bow to stern. The whole model is stained with a varnish finish and is inscribed with "Hurricane N: 3" on port and starboard bows.
CA: BAC.
