Description: | Scale: 1:12. A contemporary full hull model of a sailing cat-rigged boat complete with a single mast and cotton sail. The hull shape of the narrow bow and wide beam towards the stern suggests that its design was influenced by the larger racing and sailing craft that were used along the eastern coast of America, in particular the Chesapeake Bay area. It is also fitted with a retractable centre plate to compensate the rather large sail area and shallow hull. The rounded shape and style of the seating area, known as the cockpit, in the stern sheets would suggest a date circa 1880.
CA: BBC. Sail damaged.
