Description: | Portrait of the ?George? from slightly abaft the port beam, under topsails, before the wind, with two other ships in the background. There are two broadside gun ports each on the forecastle and quarterdeck, and an escape port from the orlop aft. The figurehead is a lion and on the tafferel there appears to be a man on a rearing horse attacking a dragon with a lance (i.e. St George), which suggests the vessel?s likely identity.
The ?George? was bought in 1672 and sunk as a foundation in 1674.
