Description: | Scale: Unknown. A full hull and rigged model of a Upper Yangtze junk with a towing mast as used on the Chinchian River. The hull is carved from a solid piece of wood to which the upper works, deck and fittings have been either pinned or glued on. It is rigged with a single mast and stitched cotton sail. There is a curved canopy awning over the accommodation area at the stern, the roof of which is woven material stitched to a wooden frame work. Other loose fittings include two large steering oars and a wooden spar. It is packed in its original wooden box on which are various inscriptions.
