Description: | This is a ship portrait, viewed from a low viewpoint, the viewer facing the port beam side. The deck of the ship is filled with people. The boat?s figurehead is seen as a chariot with a man on horseback on it. Whilst the ship may not be conclusively identified, she is almost certainly one of the nine 90-gun ships built between 1678 and 1685. Several of these ships had lion figureheads, which this ship does not. The chariot figurehead suggests that the ship is likely to be the ?Neptune.?
