Description: | Scale: 1:24. A sectional model depicting the port side of the elliptical stern of the 50 gun frigate HMS Warspite (1840). The model is made entirely of wood the lower half is carved from a solid block. It is painted in realistic colours, the exterior hull being black with a broad off-white horizontal stripe along the gun deck. Decorative mouldings around the stern and port quarter galleries are highlighted in ochre. The gun deck is stained and varnished wood. The inboard hull is off-white with dark green above. The rail is painted black and the inner faces of the gun ports are red. Two complete gun ports are depicted, one each on the gun deck and poop deck. A further two at the stern poop appear to be missing due to damage. A small port is shown at the stern to the left of the upper part of the rudder.
