Description: | ?W. V. V. J?
Viewed from close under the lee bow, a rapid but very accurate portrait of the ?Kitchen?, 8-gun yacht, built 1670, made a bomb-vessel 1692. It is apparently close-hauled on the starboard tack, heeling in a fresh breeze. Only the foot of the mast is shown. The mainsail may be brailed. Only two figures are shown on board and there is no one at the helm. There are two square decorated ports forward, on amidships and a double light aft. There is no badge on the quarter. The figurehead is a lion.
Approximately dated by the watermark and style.
